Suno has hired Michael Chua, most recently global vice president of business development and strategic partnerships at Ticketmaster, as vice president of live experiences and general manager of Songkick. Chua announced the move on LinkedIn Oct. 8, and Billboard describes it as a new live experiences division.
It's the latest hire in a string of strategic staffing moves made by the largest AI music creation platform.
Chua spent nearly 11 years at Ticketmaster, where his work centered on third-party distribution, product, and AI partnerships. Variety’s 2024 list of AAPI music executives credited him with deals with Snap, TikTok, and Google that gave fans new ways to discover live events.
Suno acquired Songkick from Warner Music Group in November 2025 as part of a partnership and licensing deal that settled the label’s copyright lawsuit. The purchase was the missing link between AI-generated music and live shows, giving Suno a path from song creation to artist discovery to the concert. Earlier this year, MBW reported that Suno had posted a listing for a Songkick general manager, tasked with connecting Songkick’s live music data to Suno’s artist and creation ecosystem, and that Suno had formally become the controller of Songkick user data.
Chua framed the job in his post: “Live music matters more than ever, and I see an incredible opportunity at Suno to help artists take a song from first idea to the stage, and bring their fans along the way,” he wrote. He said Songkick “sits at the heart of this” and that Suno is hiring across all functions.
Neither Chua nor Suno has indicated what the shape of the live experiences will be, nor how Songkick will connect to Suno’s creation tools.
