The 7 Different Types of AI Tools
Not all “AI music” is the same. Some tools write full songs, others just remix, master, or clone voices. Here’s how to tell which ones truly use AI — and which just sound like they do.
Music generation
One-click songs you can release to streaming services.
Boomy is one of the earliest consumer AI music apps, built around speed and release rather than fine control: pick a style, generate a song in seconds, tweak it, and distribute it to Spotify, Apple Music and other services. It has millions of users and has released a huge catalog, which also made it an early flashpoint when Spotify pulled tracks over suspected artificial streaming in 2023. Paid plans add WAV downloads, editing and full commercial rights. Reviewers see it as the easiest on-ramp but weaker on song quality and vocals than Suno or Udio.
