KorinAI

AI songs sung natively in Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin.

KorinAI is a Nigerian platform that generates songs in African languages, with Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin live and more languages planned. Founder Philip Olajide-Philips, a developer with IBM AI training and a working musician background, adapts open-source models using music from partners, producers and copyright-cleared sources instead of building a model from scratch. The point is cultural fluency: phrasing, tone and rhythm that generic Western-trained models flatten. It has grown to more than 2,000 users mostly by word of mouth and was named a Global Winner for Culture & Heritage at the 2025 World Summit Awards. It has also been the subject of academic work on building music AI in Nigeria.
