SpectraLayers is Steinberg's spectral audio editor, where you see sound as a picture and can paint, cut and move individual frequencies. Its AI unmixing splits songs into instruments and vocals and separates dialogue, effects and ambience for film work. Version 13, released in July 2026, added sound-effect unmixing from backgrounds, automatic healing of the gaps left behind, two-voice separation, a spectral reconstruction module and batch processing, plus Dolby Atmos support with Pro Tools. It comes in an affordable Elements edition and a full Pro edition.
